Covering cemeteries in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Germany, this final volume brings narrative closure without offering definitive answers. Instead, it acknowledges complexity: remembrance and forgetting, preservation and decay, continuity and rupture.

The concluding section of A Grave History reflects on the broader implications of funerary heritage, while clearly positioning the trilogy as an introduction rather than an academic endpoint. Readers are encouraged to explore further through specialised historical and archaeological sources.

Tome III stands as both an ending and a resting place — for the books themselves, and for the five-year journey that brought them into being.
